Shinn & Company LLC welcomes former Buchanan aide as new staff accountant

Bradenton, FL — Shinn & Company LLC, Certified Public Accountants and Consultants, is pleased to announce that Joe Gruters has joined the firm as a staff accountant. He is a graduate of both Florida State University and the University of South Florida’s Masters in Business Administration program and plans to sit for the CPA exam in February.

Prior to joining the firm Mr. Gruters worked for U.S. Representative Vern Buchanan, R-Longboat Key, in both political and corporate roles. “I am looking forward to this new chapter of my life. Over the past three years I have been preparing a transition from the ‘up and down ’ world of campaign management to a more stable future as a Certified Public Accountant. Shinn & Company has an excellent reputation as one of the area’s leaders in the industry and I am excited to be a part of their team.”

He will continue to work as an unsalaried political director for the Buchanan campaign as well as being the campaign’s treasurer. In addition to his work with the campaign, Mr. Gruters will maintain his roles as the Sarasota Republican Party chairman and the chairman of the Sarasota County Planning Commission. Both are unpaid positions.
